I was born and raised in Appalachia, southern Illinois, of parents who's parents lived in rural northern Kentucky, and I have lived in such places as Northfield, Minnesota, St. Paul, Minnesota, London England, Minong, Wisconsin, and Naples Florida.  I remain at heart a bourbon drinking hillbilly.
