I was conceived in Kentucky during a gambling trip to Churchill Downs, and my mother went into labor in Paducah, Kentucky.
My hometown was Lawrenceville, Illinois, just across the Wabash River where Abraham Lincoln crossed from Fort Vincennes, Indiana, into Illinois on his way to Springfield.
